Overview

SouthStar communities was planning a kickoff event for Mayfair, a master planned community coming to New Braunfels, Texas. Construction had not yet begun, but the developer needed a way to engage and excite potential homebuyers, as well as gather leads in the absence of model homes to show. A longtime client of Cecilian Partners, SouthStar reached out to us for a solution—something quick to deploy, easy to use, and effective for delivering results.

Challenge

With nothing but 1,900 acres of open land to show potential buyers, how do you capture their interest?

With just 60 days before the scheduled Mayfair kickoff event, SouthStar Communities sought a way to grab the attention of prospective homebuyers—and they needed a better system for gathering leads than handwritten registration cards.

The right solution needed to establish a system for engaging prospective buyers, efficiently provide leads to the builders, and monitor traffic from one builder information tent to the next. The product also had to integrate seamlessly with Southstar's existing CRM to manage the data they were collecting.

Approach

Solution

Our team knew Brightdoor Touch would provide all the features needed to serve Mayfair’s developer, buyers, and builders during the event. Its touch-centric platform helped showcase Mayfair’s unique lifestyle offerings, letting viewers easily navigate to find images of what’s to come and information on everything from builders to amenities. During the product training, we showed the Mayfair marketing team how to populate the Brightdoor Touch template with existing, brand-centric content from the website.

Brightdoor Passport was a key feature for creating a seamless customer experience and managing leads. Passport holders registered once—online or onsite—and had a straight line to all of Mayfair’s builders, homes, and communities. They received a QR code to scan at any model home or sales center within Mayfair, and their registration info instantly transmitted to SouthStar Communities. Meanwhile, Southstar was able to view traffic in real time.

Builders automatically received the leads in a digital format. When an interested buyer checked in with a particular builder, the lead went directly to that builder. (There’s no lead sharing with the Passport system, unless a lead is generated by the developer.)

In less than 60 days, Brightdoor Touch and Passport were ready to effortlessly gather and disseminate leads, while also telling a story about the forthcoming community to buyers. The solution required no customizing, and the sales staff was fully trained within 45 minutes.

Results

Capturing homebuyers' interest with a seamless and engaging experience.

Kristi Robinson, Director, Marketing & Community Relations, said: "Passport was a huge benefit to us. It enabled our team to have multiple registration opportunities spread throughout the event, so we were able to capture potential buyers no matter where they were in the festival. It also made the registration process seamless for customers, as they only had to fill out their information one time then could easily scan their phone at other stops. This prevented registration fatigue for builders who may have been the fifth stop along the model home tour.

"The Cecilian team was hands on through the entire process and helped us tackle any issues that arose in set up. They also were great at getting everyone trained on using the iPads, including those who are more technologically challenged."

For the Mayfair kick-off event, Brightdoor Passport: 

  • Pre-registered 403 people on the Mayfair website, which automatically linked them to Passport 
  • Registered 38 people onsite
  • Tracked 369 engagements: registrations, check-ins, and viewing the story on Brightdoor Touch
  • Provided one builder with 50 interactions from their kiosk and another with 15 possible leads
